The John Marshall Soil and Water Conservation district (JMSWCD) one of our many conservation partners in the headwaters of the Rappahannock River watershed. Their mission is to provide leadership, technical assistance, information, and education to the citizens of Fauquier County in proper soil stewardship, agricultural conservation methods, and water quality protection so as to ensure the wise use of the county's natural resources. Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR) has partnered with JMSWCD on multiple projects in the least several years.
The 2016 William and Denise Micks Environmental Studies Scholarship has been awarded to Margaret “Maggie” Magliatio, a rising senior at the University of Mary Washington.
